Scissors Jim, but not as we know it.

Haitsu is a word coined by creative powerhouses Dentsu (London) that loosely means the combining of craft and technology, and their recent project for Wallpaper* magazine is a superb example of that.
Half of these scissors were designed by New Zealand designer Jamie Mclellan, and 3D printed in just minutes by a highly advanced rapid prototyping machine - from the computer file straight to the laser cutters. The other half were painstakingly formed and filed by hand by Ernst Wright & Son, who have been at the science and art of scissor-making since 1902.
So... old-world craftmanship and future-faced technology in one product. Turning a seemingly perfunctory tool into a thing of beauty and intrigue that captures an exciting moment in the history of design.
Ok, that's all. Back to Shortland Street.
