Atlanta Botanical Gardens - Festival of Lights!

I saw this today on Inhabitat. Atlanta Botanical Gardens collaborated with Lighting Science Group and CD + M Lighting and Design Group to create this LED topiary light display. The lights are synchronized with music. It's so beautiful and so different.... I bet we see more of this next year!

Uovo D’argentis and Uovo D’oro by Rony Plesl

I find these hand blown glass chandeliers, by Czech designer Rony Plesl, quite amazing but kinda creepy at the same time. I appreciate the delicate hand blown glass orbs and the exactness of their arrangement creating an very eye-catching chandelier but I also half expect all of them to crack open and hatch some otherworldly creature. They are fascinating for sure!

These were designed for Lasvit

Each option offers something different to the space and can be as stand out or blend in as you want it to be. Here are some great High Fashion Home items you may want to consider.

I LOVE the Ennis Sphere Lamp! The brass base is so interesting and the shade is perfectly complimentary.
The Cora Floor Lamp is definitely and eye catching piece.

I love the Rittenhouse Pendant. It's very refined and elegant.

These Walls Are Something Else...

As I was browsing through House Beautiful and Elle Decor's websites, I kept seeing a common thread. They both were displaying rooms with walls that shine. I almost thought that this was outrageous, but it actually looks very trendy and chic. The walls have a lacquer based paint which gives them a patent leather look which I adore!

Black just may be one of my favorite colors and it definitely looks amazing in this office.

There's so many colors in this room, but they all work very well together.
The walls are the icing on the cake.

The green walls make a very bold statement in this room, but it is a good compliment to everything.

Here's a few items from High Fashion Home that will help shine up your space.

B. Ash Garden IV, $238
C. Aristocrat Armchair, Silver, $629
E. Big Shade Pendant, Black, $319
F. Blank Slate, $298
  G. Bolo Table, Black, $269
H. Drop Stool, Green, $139

Lovely Home in Charlotte

I saw this house while checking out Southern Living. The house is so classic and beautiful on the outside and it just gets better once you walk through the door. I really enjoy the different prints and colors used throughout the house. Love it.

I have always loved houses that look like this one.

The family room. I love this room so much! Every piece of furniture is a different print but they all work so well together. That mirror? Fuhgettaboutit! : ) And there is plenty of seating so everyone can hang out together.

Now, green is my favorite color so I love the green walls and other little touches of green in this kitchen. Even if it weren't green I would still love it. I think every kitchen needs to have an island. I like the big window and the mix of glass door and solid door cabinets.

I LOVE that the stove is set in an alcove! I'm not sure why other than I think it looks neat.

The breakfast area is great! Yes, I love the lime green chairs but I also think the bench seating along the wall is very smart and then the storage space under that seating is brilliant!

The dining room looks great! I absolutely LOVE the chandelier!!

Daughter's bedroom. Of course, more green (love it) and I like the little reading corner complete with tent. The wallpaper is fun too and livens up the whole room.

This is the son's room. Love the bright colored bedding in the same room as the black and white curtains!

This is the "office". Truly, it's my kind of office. Very organized and uncluttered. Nice.

The parent's bedroom is much more neutral and simple but still very great looking.

Love, love this bathroom! It's got so much great light coming in. I bet a bath in that tub is so relaxing!

Underground House!

This house is pretty amazing. The home hasn't been built yet and is still in the planning stages but I wanted to share the idea anyway. The house plans for 3 lovely bedrooms, a wonderful kitchen, an indoor pool, a small workout room AND it's all underground! I know. The idea of living underground seems out there but I don't think you'd expect an underground home to look incredible but this one SO does!

A view from above ground.

The living room. The house would have a center, circular, sky-lit shaft to light up the indoors.

The lovely kitchen.

Master bedroom. See the little hole in the wall to the left? That's a stainless steel slide straight to the pool!

The lower level with the pool, 2 more bedrooms and workout room.

Carolina Fontoura Alzaga!!

I saw Carolina Fontoura Alzaga's work while checking out CasaSugar. Carolina is currently creating these amazing chandeliers made from discarded bike parts. When I first saw the picture I couldn't tell what they were made of; I just thought they were beautiful chandeliers. When I read on and found out they are made mostly of bike chains, I was in awe! You can check out the CasaSugar interview with Carolina here. Enjoy! : )
