Polyhedron Pod!

Described as a "Habitable Polyhedron" this small structure is one of the coolest spaces I have ever seen! Designed by Manuel Villa and constructed by Alberto González Sepúlveda, this pod was designed as a piece to be tucked away in the backyard as a guest house, family gathering spot or just your personal getaway space that's away from home but not too far away. The glass facade gives this space a lot of sunlight and superb views of outside. So neat! Sign me up!

A+ A-Frame House!

A-frame homes don't usually offer much in the way of interior space and this a-frame is no different but, home owners Karyn Gordon and Brent Penner have done amazing things with their Lake Simcoe house! Their cottage is so comfortable and cozy with little DIY projects throughout. You really can do a lot with small spaces, it just takes imagination and a little elbow grease.

Karyn, Brent and friends added the wide ledge/bench to the deck to offer more sitting space outside.

Low ceilings don't keep this kitchen from having lot of storage space; the cabinets are just all below the counter.

Varying shades of blue give great color to the mostly white living room.

Karyn and Brent made beside tables from wood they found on their property.

Grand Entrance!

Past the front door, the entryway is the first spot your guests experience when they visit your home. What do you want that first impression to look like? Whether yours is just a small hall space or a medium size room, don't overlook it. The entry is a chance for you to give a decorative glimpse of the rest of the house. Here are some inspiring entryway pics!

I love everything about this entryway!! The wallpaper, the light, the colors and it's so roomy!

Simple and lovely!

Love all the blues and that wallpaper!!

Just one wall. They could have left it naked but this looks is so much more complete and fabulous! Our Regiment Suitcase Stack Chest would look great here!

White and Bright in Barcelona!!

I stumbled across this gorgeous Barcelona home on Houzz! The ground-level apartment is only 1,130 square feet but there is so much style and amazing in this place. Interior designer Mireia Pla created the warm interior of this space using white as the base with purple to add pops of color and lots of natural textures. Pla also made sure that this home had no shortage of sunlight by using floor to ceiling windows and skylights. Love, love this Barcelona beauty!

TINY, I Mean TINY New York Apartment!!

We have all seen some small spaces but I think this New York apartment takes the cake!! With only 245 square feet of space to work with, you may think it would be impossible to make such a tiny space a home but you would be SO WRONG! Tim Seggerman took that 245 square feet and created the most fabulous living space! He even made room for a full size washing machine in there!

Small but in Napa!

I love when small spaces are featured in magazines, blogs etc!! I love them even more when the small home looks as beautiful as Wendy Furman's does. There is nothing flashy about her home and it has a calm, simplistic beauty to it. AND, it's in Napa Valley!! Working with only 643 square feet can be tough but small changes can make a big impact in spaces like this one. She removed kitchen cabinet doors to open the space and took the divider out of an opening between the living room and kitchen creating more breathing room.
(all photos from Remodelista and you can see more of Wendy's creations at Whim & Caprice)

See! The space would have felt so claustrophobic without that opening in the wall!

The open shelving gives the kitchen more depth.

I love her idea of using the contrasting gray paint in the back of the cabinet!!

Long, low bookshelves provide plenty of storage space but don't consume the room.

Small and Sleek in Sydney!!

Small homes can be a tough beast to tackle. Where to fit everything and still have space to move around and live? Minosa Design Studio took a modest, two level home and gave it a bunch of style, lots of function and still had plenty of room for break dancing. The kitchen has white, sliding doors that hide the pantry and all the cabinets which gives the space a clean, spacious feel. Plus, they created a  pretty amazing kitchen table that is actually much bigger than it looks.
