A GOOD DESK IS HARD TO FIND – As I discovered when I moved to Seattle, it can be difficult to find a nice desk. I spent what seemed like forever looking for something that wasn’t too big for my small apartment. I ended up making my own using parts from a hardware store and an enormous Danish furniture store. Though I kind of wish I had come across this gem before I did. The desk, by Zuo Modern, is big enough for work, but not too big, and made entirely of tempered glass with cast aluminum supports. It also includes a keyboard tray and tower stand.

A particularly nice touch is the multi-ply top, whose flat surface is elevated slightly from the curved legs in such a way that it appears to float; this effectively lightens the table visually and allows its curves to flow freely.

Avant-Garde and Beauty Alchemy Inc Open their doors..

Avant-Garde and Beauty Alchemy Inc officially open.. 


Tonight was the grand opening of Avant-Garde Home Furnishings, LLC new offices and the new salon of Beauty Alchemy Inc, both located within the new oasis off Biscayne Blvd now known as the Oasis off Biscayne, located at 811 NE 79th Street, Miami, Florida 33138. Avant-Garde and Beaty Alchemy threw a grand opening celebration that was a mirrored down event out of respect of he buildings other tenant and her cats who are her life. 


Cassandra, owner of Beauty Alchemy and Alexander Calzadilla, owner of Avant-Garde were trilled at the outcome of the event which was DJ'd by Orestes Suarez, better known as DJ Ori to his friends.. Here are some pictures from tonight's event...
