Miami Home Prices Up 11.3%

Miami real estate prices are rising once again, and according to a report today by the Miami Herald's Martha Brannigan, home prices in the Miami area are up a whopping 11.3 percent in August 2012, as compared to one year earlier.

Brannigan reports that Core Logic, a Santa Ana, California data firm, presented statistics showing a 4.6 percent increase across the nation. In Miami, Miami Beach and Kendall, prices rose 9.9 percent in August from one year earlier.

The national price gain was the greatest in more than 6 years. Although these price gains seem huge in comparison to what has happened in real estate in the past several years, there are areas recovering even faster than Miami. Home prices in the Phoenix-Mesa-Glendale, Arizona region climbed 21.8 percent in August year-over-year, according to Core Logic.
