A New Paradigm for Public Spaces

Via the Contemporist, Centro Abierto de Actividades Ciudadanas in Cordoba, Spain represents an innovative twist to the idea of public spaces.  The prefabricated, circular discs provide an artistic rain protection that will house temporary markets two days a week, along with other activities. 

The aerial view is quite spectacular.

The discs vary in height.  You can see grand scale in relation to the two guys.

The bold, soft colors are a definite eye catcher.

It makes me want to bring my Amazon Kindle to read under the nice shade.

The temporary flea market creates a great buzz factor on the weekends.

The park just lights up the sky.
