Black and White - desire to inspire

The lines between the kitchen and dining room are getting increasingly blurred.

Black and white has been a timeless color combination since the existence of fashion.  Architect Matt Gibson, has created a black and white motif that is very modern and chic, yet warm and inviting.  Take a tour of this elegant home in St. Kilda, Melbourne.

The living opens up to an outdoor patio.  I love the combination of distressed leather chair, white shag rug, and over-sized sofa with built-in arm bookshelf for the arm.

The recessed lighting at the floor level adds immensely the standout outdoor ambiance.

I love the big ledge that bleeds from the patio space into the living room.  It's very functional, serving as great display area for artwork and seating for guests at a party.

I can't get enough of that lighting.  If I had an outdoor space like that, I would be grilling every day (Weather permitting, of course.).

This is the actual formal dining area with the gorgeous black and white wallpaper.

The Alexander Bar Stools nestled underneath a beautiful, marble counter top.
