I get to see both of these ladies speak this weekend...

SemiPermanent is only a few days away (eeeeeeeee!) and the final two speakers have been announced - Bec Winnel and Kelli Anderson. It would be fair, I think, to say that both of their careers are still in their infancy, which is crazy when you look at the standard of where they're at already. Australian Bec Winnel is now in demand as a commercial illustrator, with international brands, fashion houses and publications commissioning her dreamy portraits of femininity and sensuality. My guess is that Bec will talk about her journey to making a full-time living from her art (this is only her first year without a 'day job'). Flying in to speak at SemiPermanent from America, Kellie Anderson is a bit of a renaissance graphic designer - with a particular bent toward typography and infographics. In 2010, she left her job with the American Museum of Natural History to focus on own independent work. I can't wait to hear her speak, particularly as she does lots of random little side projects - and I'm a big advocate of side projects.

What's mental is that these ladies are only 2 of 17 insanely good speakers this Friday and Saturday at SemiPermanent. Get yourself a ticket - call it an investment in being more awesome than the average.

I want to be buddies with Kelli Anderson.

A few pretty pieces from Bec Winnel.
