7 directors, one video

For this video for NZ hip hop artist David Dallas' 'Take a Picture', seven directors/animators each interpreted a different segment of the track. Each one shot using a different format (16mm film, CHS, Stop Motion etc), and couldn't see what the others were doing with their segment. The result is 7 very different pieces of film, put together to create the video. The end result is too disjointed for me to 100% love it as a music video, but I love the concept of collaboration, and am big fan of both the song and the talent involved...see what you think...

Today was a cool day. The postie delivered me 2 copies of the very first Punched & Ruled, and inside it, a series of profiles on 7 interesting New Zealand creatives. Ange Crane has put this boutique publication together on her own steam, printed limited-edition and not (yet) available to buy. Inside this issue, we meet NZ designer Brogen Averill, Singer-Songwriter Ben King, filmmaker Niamh Peren, creative director Adam Bryce, menswear designer Glenn Yungnickel,  womenswear designer Ingrid Starnes and artist Roberta Thornley. The perfect read for a Sunday afternoon, and the design is super nice - blue duotone portraits and a considered layout.
